I dreamed about this trip for years…and never imagined what was to come. In my wildest dreams I couldn’t predict how I would really feel once walking on the streets of Indian soil… nor how I would be perceived by its people.
It all surprised me and not in the most positive sense.
I don’t consider my self as a very demanding person and have traveled in Asia before without any problems nor complains. However as many people have said before me…I SAY India is something else!
We started our adventurous lifestyle in Bombay (Mumbai) full of dreams, hopes and hunger for the discoveries still to come. I felt ever so excited… I was about to travel in the land of my dreams…
How many people can say that?! Needless to say, reality, the awareness of surrounding us poverty and homelessness very quickly pulled us down by our feet into the mud and poo.
The dirt surprised me tremendously already introducing it self trough the little window of the plane. I saw “scary” view of very dirty, dusty roofs and streets spreading before my eyes shamelessly.
Well I thought, we arrived in India. Country of the burning sun and dusty roads which still in my mind didn’t mean that people live as one with in every aspect of their lives. Soon enough I was proven wrong. As I discovered in India everything is dusty… dirty and nobody simply seem to mind it! People live with it as if there would not be any other alternative. The concept of cleaning is also rather unique which means that tourist have to change the point of view as soon as they touch the grounds or die… and I’m not joking!
As you see we decided to adjust to live another day, capture some moments and share many yet to come stories…
